Overview

Photoshop is one of the coolest application that is out there. It is great for manipulating images. Retouching images to correct lighting, cropping to interesting parts. However, it can also be used to create complete new images.

Digital car modification

I was inspired by some Photoshop contests that show an image of a car and it must be tuned using Photoshop. I decided to work on a car, after reading some tutorials on DigiMod. I found a nice picture of an Audi A3 that I wanted to modify. The first goal was to make a cabriolet version, which doesn't exist in real life.

This is the original image:

This is the modified image, which is pretty cool.

Audi A3 cabriolet (photoshop)

The total project took several hours to complete and the following changes have been made to the original image:

  • Converted to a cabriolet (Audi TT cabriolet top used)
  • Created new interior (old interior was unusable due to the windows)
  • Changed background (old background was incomplete)
  • Lowered the car a bit and installed bigger tires
  • Installed the new Audi grill (Audi A6 grill used)
  • Tinted headlight and foglights
  • Installed chrome mirrors
  • Repainted the car in metallic blue
